In this particular case, it fully complements the residence through the clipped box-ball garden that was created and that forms an integral part of the home: an interplay between inside and out.
Here, the mineral element plays an extremely important role, for it lends the ‘sculptural’ touch to a garden crafted entirely from Mediterranean species. We are near Fayence, a small village in the Var, in the south of France, where Mediterranean plants are indispensable. They are suited to the extremely hot climate that reigns over the “Terre Blanche” estate throughout the summer, yet are hardy enough to withstand the region's sometimes harsh winters.
All these Mediterranean plants are, in the end, the very definition of our climate — harsh and gentle at once.
